Hermosa Beach, CA (PRWEB) May 23, 2011

Harvard grad sociologist Maureen O?Crean, MBA/MIS (University of Albany) believes in the American dream for everyone and is launching a new initiative with a dual purpose: to assist local businesses in the Beauty and Fashion industry reach more customers and to help homeless families get off the street. The Beauty Diva Network by Distinctively Diva, http://www.theddbn.com, combines the best of what women want?beauty services and the latest fashions with what local businesses need?paying customers. A Bed of My Own, Inc. (501c3 pending) receives 25% of the profits for the economic rehabilitation and recovery of homeless women and children.

?Service Businesses, like hair stylists, nail salons, massage therapists and skincare providers, can only discount their services for a limited time before they are out of business,? states Maureen O?Crean, founder of Distinctively Diva, http://www.distinctivelydiva.com, an online community of women that delivers a positive message of self-esteem and happiness. ?Businesses need to adopt new technologies on the local level to keep our communities healthy and thriving. Social Media tools like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or Linkedin can be overwhelming to brick and mortar store owners. Business experts predict that local businesses which don?t adapt won?t be here in a few years. We make it easy for business owners to stay current and profitable,? concludes O?Crean, a Business Strategist and Coach featured in Entrepreneur Magazine (Feb, 2006).
